Älta
The upstairs rooms in the house in Älta needed more daylight and better ventilation, and the owners also wanted to reduce heat loss through the roof. After reviewing the conditions of the house together with them, we recommended modern roof windows from VELUX. They provide more light, a more comfortable indoor climate and a neat, uniform look both inside and out. In the photos, you can follow the work from start to finish.
The project began with us measuring the roof and marking exactly where the windows would go. The openings were then prepared, and the windows were securely fixed into the roof structure. Around each window, we carefully shaped the flashings so that water is led around the opening instead of into it. The sealing was checked at every stage, as it is what determines whether a roof window stays watertight for many years.
Today, the rooms under the roof are bright and inviting, and the new insulated glazing keeps the warmth inside during winter. The windows also make it easy to air out the rooms when it gets warm in summer. The owners have praised both how well we kept them informed and how smoothly the work went. For the family, the upper floor has become a place they enjoy spending time in.

It is rarely possible to tell from the ground. Moss and the odd broken tile can usually be fixed, but if the underlay has become brittle or moisture has reached the roof boarding, a replacement is often the better long-term option. Yes, if you own the property and the work counts as repair, maintenance or renovation. This includes roof replacement, re-roofing and most repairs. The deduction applies to the labour cost and is deducted directly from the invoice. Housing associations (BRF), however, cannot use the ROT deduction for work on the association’s roof.
With a complete re-roofing, you receive a 30-year watertight roof warranty. For other types of work, the warranty is stated in the quote and the contract, so you know exactly what applies before the work begins. The manufacturers’ product warranties also apply to the materials we install.
