Removing the moss also gets rid of the clumps that would otherwise wash into the gutters and block the downpipes. We avoid pressure washing on sensitive surfaces, as too much pressure can wear away the surface layer of concrete tiles or force water under the tiles. Instead, we combine careful mechanical cleaning with a treatment that kills the spores and slows down regrowth. How often a roof needs cleaning depends on its location, but for many homes, every few years is enough. While we work, we also inspect the roof, so you’ll be told about any damage.
Whether roof cleaning qualifies for the ROT tax deduction depends on what the work involves. Cleaning alone is assessed differently from maintenance that protects the roof and extends its lifespan. Yes, if you own the property and the work counts as repair, maintenance or renovation. This includes roof replacement, re-roofing and most repairs. The deduction applies to the labour cost and is deducted directly from the invoice. Housing associations (BRF), however, cannot use the ROT deduction for work on the association’s roof.
With a complete re-roofing, you receive a 30-year watertight roof warranty. For other types of work, the warranty is stated in the quote and the contract, so you know exactly what applies before the work begins. The manufacturers’ product warranties also apply to the materials we install.
