Every time it rains, thousands of litres of water run off a roof. If the water ends up in the wrong place, it can damage the facade, seep into the foundations and cause damp problems in basements and crawl spaces. A well-functioning roof drainage system makes sure the water is collected and led away in a controlled way. VOLUX plans and installs roof drainage in Stockholm for houses, apartment buildings and commercial properties, whether the roof is steep, low-pitched or completely flat.
Is the water not going where it should? We review the entire system, from the roof surface to the ground, and suggest a solution with a free quote.
Drainage for all types of roofs
A pitched roof and a flat roof require completely different solutions to get rid of water. We handle both external and internal systems, including:
Before
After
How large a drainage system a roof needs depends on the size of the roof, its pitch and how heavy a downpour the system needs to handle. A system that is too small will overflow in heavy rain, while poorly placed outlets can concentrate the water in one spot by the foundations. On flat roofs, the roof drains are crucial, and an overflow outlet acts as a safety valve if a drain becomes blocked. Winter brings its own demands. When snow melts on a warm roof and freezes again at the cold eaves, icicles and ice dams form, which can push water under the roof covering. By reviewing the eaves, gutters and ventilation together, we can reduce the risks and suggest measures that work in every season.
Work on the roof drainage of your own home qualifies for the ROT tax deduction on the labour cost. This applies both when improving an existing system and when installing a completely new one. Gutters, drains, pipes and other components are paid in full.
Getting the water off the roof is only half the job, as it also has to be led away from the house. If the downpipes are connected to old stormwater pipes that have become blocked or broken, the water can still end up by the foundations. We check the outlets as part of our work and let you know if you need to hire someone for groundwork.

FAQ
It is rarely possible to tell from the ground. Moss and the odd broken tile can usually be fixed, but if the underlay has become brittle or moisture has reached the roof boarding, a replacement is often the better long-term option. We’re happy to come out and assess your roof, and we’ll give you an honest answer about the most sensible way forward.
Yes, if you own the property and the work counts as repair, maintenance or renovation. This includes roof replacement, re-roofing and most repairs. The deduction applies to the labour cost and is deducted directly from the invoice. Housing associations (BRF), however, cannot use the ROT deduction for work on the association’s roof.
With a complete re-roofing, you receive a 30-year watertight roof warranty. For other types of work, the warranty is stated in the quote and the contract, so you know exactly what applies before the work begins. The manufacturers’ product warranties also apply to the materials we install.
