A roof window is only as good as the installation around it. We take responsibility for the whole process, outside as well as inside. Examples of what we do:

Roof windows let in more light than a wall window of the same size and also make it possible to air out heat and moisture where it collects, at the top of the house. Modern roof windows insulate far better than those installed a few decades ago. Replacing them can therefore reduce both draughts and condensation. But a roof window is also a hole in the roof’s waterproof layer. If the flashing kit isn’t adapted to the roofing material, or the vapour barrier isn’t connected to the frame, moisture can get in from both outside and inside. As roofers, we see the whole picture and know how the window should be integrated into the roof structure, layer by layer.
Installing or replacing roof windows in your home qualifies for the ROT tax deduction. This covers both the work on the roof and the work indoors, such as insulation, linings and the connection to the ceiling. The window, flashing kit and other materials are not included in the deduction.
The most cost-effective time to install roof windows is often during a roof replacement or re-roofing. The roof is already open, so the window can be integrated directly into the new waterproof layer. The work becomes part of the same project and the same ROT process, which simplifies both planning and invoicing.

It is rarely possible to tell from the ground. Moss and the odd broken tile can usually be fixed, but if the underlay has become brittle or moisture has reached the roof boarding, a replacement is often the better long-term option. We’re happy to come out and assess your roof, and we’ll give you an honest answer about the most sensible way forward.
Yes, if you own the property and the work counts as repair, maintenance or renovation. This includes roof replacement, re-roofing and most repairs. The deduction applies to the labour cost and is deducted directly from the invoice. Housing associations (BRF), however, cannot use the ROT deduction for work on the association’s roof.
With a complete re-roofing, you receive a 30-year watertight roof warranty. For other types of work, the warranty is stated in the quote and the contract, so you know exactly what applies before the work begins. The manufacturers’ product warranties also apply to the materials we install.
